1. About Parotata

Parotata™ is an adult social platform for live discussions, contributions and multiplayer games.

Parotata is intended only for users aged 18 years and over.

Parotata is operated by the developer of the Parotata application.

We respect your privacy and aim to collect and retain only the information reasonably necessary to operate, protect and improve Parotata.

2. Information We May Process

Depending on how you use Parotata, we may process the following information.

Account and Sign-In Information

Parotata uses Sign in with Apple.

Apple may provide Parotata with an account identifier and, depending on your choices, a name or email address. If you use Apple’s Hide My Email feature, Parotata may receive an Apple private-relay email address rather than your personal email address.

Parotata does not receive or store your Apple Account password.

Public Profile Information

You may use a public display name or brand name on Parotata.

Your public display name may be visible to other users during Lives, games, contributions and other social activity.

Users must not impersonate another person, business or organisation.

Live Discussions

When you participate in a Live, Parotata processes information needed to provide the live session, including:

• your participant identifier;
• your public display name;
• the Live or room you join;
• microphone and camera streams when you choose to participate using audio or video; and
• technical information required to connect participants.

Camera and microphone access require device permission.

Parotata does not currently provide a general feature for permanently recording Live audio or video. Live audio and video are transmitted to provide the real-time service.

Contributions and User-Generated Content

If you submit contributions, comments or other material during a Live, Parotata may store:

• the contribution;
• your public display name;
• your account or member identifier;
• the relevant Live or room; and
• the date or time of the contribution.

Public contributions may be visible to other Parotata users.

Games

Parotata may process game information such as:

• game type;
• player role;
• moves;
• scores;
• game state;
• wins and results; and
• multiplayer room information.

This information is used to synchronise multiplayer games and maintain game functionality.

Stars

Stars are participation features within Parotata.

Stars are not money, legal tender, cryptocurrency or a cash balance unless Parotata expressly introduces a separate programme stating otherwise.

Gold and In-App Purchases

Parotata may offer Gold as a consumable virtual item purchased through Apple’s App Store.

Payments are processed by Apple using StoreKit.

Parotata does not receive your full payment-card details, Apple Account password or banking credentials.

Parotata may receive or process information required to verify purchases, such as:

• product purchased;
• transaction identifier;
• purchase verification information; and
• Gold balance or gifting records.

Gold may be voluntarily sent to eligible hosts or participants.

Gold is not used for betting, gambling or determining the outcome of games.

Any future creator-payment or cash-out programme will be governed by additional terms presented when that service becomes available.

3. Information We Do Not Intentionally Request

Parotata does not require users to publicly provide:

• their home address;
• their precise location;
• their contacts;
• their Apple Account password; or
• their payment-card details.

Parotata is an 18+ service and does not knowingly permit children to use the platform.

4. Third-Party Services

Parotata relies on third-party services necessary to operate the app.

These may include:

Apple

Apple provides services including:

• Sign in with Apple;
• App Store distribution;
• StoreKit and in-app purchases; and
• device-level privacy and permission controls.

Apple processes information under its own privacy policies.

Google Firebase / Firestore

Parotata uses Firebase services to support features including live-room information, multiplayer game state, contributions and other app data.

Google may process technical information necessary to provide, secure and maintain those services.

LiveKit

Parotata uses LiveKit technology to provide real-time audio and video communications.

LiveKit and associated infrastructure may process technical connection information and live media streams as necessary to provide the Live service.

These third-party providers have their own privacy and security obligations and policies.

5. Why We Process Information

We may process information in order to:

• create and authenticate your account;
• provide live discussions;
• provide multiplayer games;
• synchronise game activity;
• display contributions;
• operate Gold purchases and gifts;
• protect users and prevent abuse;
• investigate reports;
• enforce Parotata rules;
• maintain security and reliability;
• comply with legal obligations; and
• improve the service.

Where UK data-protection law applies, processing may be based on performance of our service agreement with you, legitimate interests in operating and protecting the platform, consent where required, or compliance with legal obligations.

6. Moderation and Safety

Parotata may review, restrict or remove content that breaches its rules.

Accounts may be warned, restricted, suspended or removed where reasonably necessary to protect users or the service.

Users should report abusive, illegal, threatening, fraudulent or otherwise inappropriate activity using available reporting tools or by contacting:

7. Sharing of Information

We do not sell users’ personal information to advertisers.

Information may be shared with service providers where necessary to operate Parotata, including Apple, Firebase/Google and LiveKit infrastructure.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, court order, regulatory obligation or where reasonably necessary to protect users, Parotata or others from serious harm, fraud or unlawful activity.

8. International Processing

Some technology providers used by Parotata may process information in countries outside the United Kingdom.

Where applicable, providers may use recognised legal safeguards for international data transfers.

9. Data Retention

Parotata keeps information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including operating accounts, providing the service, resolving disputes, preventing abuse and satisfying legal or accounting obligations.

Account-associated information may be deleted or anonymised following account deletion, except where retention is reasonably required for legal, security, fraud-prevention or financial-record purposes.

10. Account Deletion

Users may request deletion of their Parotata account and associated personal information, subject to information that must lawfully be retained.

Where Sign in with Apple is used, account deletion may also involve revoking the corresponding Apple sign-in credentials.

Apple requires apps that support account creation to let users initiate account deletion within the app.

11. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on applicable law, you may have rights including:

• access to your personal information;
• correction of inaccurate information;
• deletion;
• restriction of processing;
• objection to certain processing;
• data portability; and
• withdrawal of consent where processing depends on consent.

UK users may also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO).

UK GDPR requires organisations to provide users with information about their data processing when personal data is collected.

12. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures intended to protect Parotata information.

However, no internet service or electronic transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Users are responsible for protecting access to their own devices and Apple Accounts.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when Parotata’s features, service providers or legal obligations change.

The date at the top of this page will be updated when material changes are made.

PAROTATA™ TERMS OF USE & LEGAL NOTICE

1. Acceptance of These Terms

These Terms apply to your use of the Parotata™ application and related services.

By creating or using a Parotata account, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree with them, do not use Parotata.

2. Age Requirement

Parotata is intended only for people aged 18 years and over.

You must not use Parotata if you are under 18.

3. Purpose of Parotata

Parotata is a platform for:

• live discussions;
• social interaction;
• user contributions;
• multiplayer games;
• virtual gifts; and
• related community features.

The purpose of Parotata is social interaction and entertainment.

4. Accounts and Display Names

Parotata may use Sign in with Apple for authentication.

Users may choose an appropriate public display name or brand name.

A display name must not:

• impersonate another person;
• falsely claim affiliation with another organisation;
• infringe a trademark;
• deliberately mislead users; or
• contain prohibited or abusive material.

5. Live Discussions and Contributions

Users are responsible for the material they say, show, post or contribute through Parotata.

You must not use Parotata to publish or transmit:

• threats or harassment;
• bullying;
• hate speech;
• unlawful discrimination;
• sexual exploitation or unlawful sexual material;
• fraudulent or deceptive material;
• instructions facilitating serious unlawful activity;
• spam or scams;
• another person’s private information without permission;
• copyright-infringing material;
• malicious software; or
• material otherwise prohibited by applicable law.

You must not use contributions during games to deliberately provide prohibited answers or unfair assistance where the game rules prohibit it.

Parotata may remove content or restrict accounts where reasonably necessary to enforce these rules.

Apple requires social and user-generated-content apps to provide safeguards including objectionable-content filtering, reporting mechanisms, blocking of abusive users and published contact information.

6. Public Nature of Lives

Unless a feature is expressly identified as private, users should assume that Live discussions and public contributions may be seen or heard by other participants or viewers.

Do not disclose information during a Live that you do not want other participants to know.

7. Games

Parotata currently includes games such as:

• Chess;
• CHOKOMATA;
• Draughts;
• Opon; and
• Antonyms.

Additional games may be introduced.

Games are provided for entertainment and social interaction.

Users must not interfere with game systems, alter game data, exploit vulnerabilities or use automated systems to obtain an unfair advantage.

8. No Betting or Gambling

Parotata games are not betting products.

Parotata does not require players to stake Gold or money on game outcomes.

Gold gifts must not be conditional on winning or losing a game.

Users must not use Parotata to arrange unlawful gambling or betting.

9. Stars

Stars may be awarded or used as participation features.

Stars:

• are not legal tender;
• cannot be exchanged between users as money;
• do not represent a deposit account; and
• have no guaranteed monetary value.

Parotata may change Star rules where reasonably necessary for the operation of the service.

10. Gold

Gold is a virtual item that may be offered through Apple’s in-app-purchase system.

Gold may be voluntarily gifted to eligible participants.

Gold:

• is not cryptocurrency;
• is not legal tender;
• is not a bank deposit;
• may not be used for betting;
• may not determine game outcomes; and
• may not be sold or transferred outside Parotata except through an authorised Parotata programme.

Purchases are processed by Apple and are subject to Apple’s payment and refund rules as well as applicable consumer law.

Parotata may introduce separate creator-earnings or payout terms in the future. No right to a particular cash-out rate arises unless that programme is expressly made available to the user under applicable payout terms.

I would deliberately NOT publish the “70% payout” promise yet, because the payout system and exact accounting basis have not been finalised.

11. User Content Rights

You retain ownership of original content that you create.

By submitting content to Parotata, you grant Parotata a non-exclusive licence to host, transmit, display, reproduce and moderate that content to the extent reasonably necessary to operate Parotata.

This licence does not transfer ownership of your original work to Parotata.

12. Intellectual Property

Parotata™, CHOKOMATA™ and associated original branding, software, game designs, graphics and materials are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

Nothing in these Terms transfers ownership of Parotata intellectual property to users.

13. Moderation, Suspension and Termination

Parotata may restrict, suspend or terminate accounts where reasonably necessary because of:

• serious or repeated breaches of these Terms;
• abuse or harassment;
• fraud;
• attempts to compromise the service;
• unlawful behaviour; or
• risks to other users.

Where appropriate, Parotata may also preserve information needed to investigate abuse or comply with legal obligations.

14. Service Availability

We aim to keep Parotata operational but do not guarantee that every service will always be available without interruption.

Live video, multiplayer games and other internet-based features may be affected by network connectivity, third-party infrastructure, device performance, maintenance or events outside our reasonable control.

15. No Guarantee of Earnings

Use of Parotata does not guarantee income, Gold gifts, popularity, viewers, game wins or future creator payments.

Any future earnings programme may have separate eligibility and payment requirements.

16. Third-Party Services

Parotata may depend on services supplied by third parties including Apple, Firebase/Google and LiveKit.

Use of those services may also be subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

17. Consumer Rights and Liability

Nothing in these Terms excludes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence where applicable.

To the extent permitted by law, Parotata is not responsible for losses caused by misuse of the service, unlawful activity by another user, failures outside our reasonable control, or users relying on statements made by other members as professional advice.

18. Changes to Parotata

Features, games and functionality may change over time.

We may update these Terms when necessary to reflect new functionality, legal requirements or safety measures.

The latest version will be published on this website.

19. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory consumer protections that apply to users in their country of residence.
